Talking about U.N. official: 'Madness' to attack Iran - Focus on Iran - MSNBC.com

Quote

U.N. official: 'Madness' to attack Iran - Focus on Iran - MSNBC.com

Madness is the suffering which will be seen if arrogant national leaders do not stop this march to nuclear confrontation. The US can point to the Iran, Korea, or who ever is next but until it looks at it’s own march to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD’s) it will not secure anything but more suffering for all mankind.

Responsibility In An Era Of Consequences
by David Krieger, May 17, 2007

We must also withdraw our support from any programs that seek to maintain nuclear arsenals into the future. A prime example is the Reliable Replacement Warhead (RRW) program now being developed at the US nuclear weapons laboratories. This is but one example of a dangerous weapons program unworthy of our humanity. Rather than continuing the nuclear arms race, largely with itself, while ignoring its obligations under international law for nuclear disarmament, the United States must take a leadership role in ending the nuclear weapons threat to humanity. This is only likely to happen if US citizens demand such action from their government. http://www.wagingpeace.org/articles/2007/05/17_krieger_Responsibility_In_An_Era.htm

Our government is leading this race and we the people have to tell them that we want a true path to lasting peace. If America’s leaders had enough humility to withdraw this march and redouble all efforts with the UN to support all avenues to build trust and mutual respect for all life, we might avert the horrors humanity has witnessed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki once and for all.

You and I will avert it or allow it. Please act today for tomorrow.

I remember a great nation

We must bring back the land I was so proud to be born a citizen of. Before we were coerced in fear from our freedoms, civil rights, human rights, equality, justice for all and defender of humanity for the world.

Remember the great truth of “There is nothing to fear but fear itself”

Before the Patriot Act, authorizing warrentless surveillance. Before we bypassed the United Nations and took justice into our own hands only to find our high handed self-righteousness was based on faulty intelligence. Before we were told that evil was “over there”. Yet to apologize and withdraw from the shock and awe.

Remember we were warned “Beware the military complex.”, way before the Military Commissions Act.

Before we withdrew from the Kyoto Treaty because it did not serve the economy. Before we abandoned the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty designed to build true inroads for peace throughout the world.

Remember that “An injustice to one is an injustice to all”. http://thenewshole.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/07/03/256978.aspx

The last bastion of my being an American most recently striped away from me by the highest court in the land failing to uphold the strict separation of church and state.

Less noticeable was their ruling of injustice about the medicinal value of a plant, a ruling which spits in the face of truth.

Now I know the deepest meaning of “Give me liberty or give me death”. You can not harness free will and you can not achieve justice without truth.

This July 4th I will celebrate my sanity and treasure my humanity

as I greave for a  great nation I once knew of before.

I pray for her recovery and return.

Little Wonder

Little Wonder

Bye bye firefly, I will miss the magic you make in the night sky

They say you are leaving, a path of extinction where no one noticed or cared

I will miss the childhood wonder you brought and hold your sparkle

In my tears for those who do not care

They say death comes in threes and you weren’t the first

We were warned of the frogs, butterflies and bees

Such sacrificial things are these

When man kills man and abandons the Earth as the essential plan

I held you in my hand as I know that is the proper plan

To cherish the smallest wonder as the greatest thing ever

And so you will remain in my mind

With my prayer for all living beings, you, little wonder, will be there

With your leaving comes a grave devastation of nature

Where our desire has too little concern for her

There are many signs and too few answers

For the ones who know what to treasure

My Mother's Day wish

TO REMOVE SUFFERING

Buddhism teaches to not seek the highest truth outside yourself and that we all equally have the potential for it within.

A handful of radical and fundamental Jihad’s, sent ‘Passion of the Christ’ to be promoted at the Air Force academy after a president declared that evil was over there. http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/062907J.shtml#

I don’t dispute the faults found in the Quran, I can’t get some Christians to see those in the Bible. To cause so much suffering to all the people, these are the paths of blind belief.

May 19, 2008

The news I found last night revealed that radical fundamentalist Christian extremists are pushing for and are winning dominance in the military. (1) The ideals of our country that we know to be great are crushed by this domineering force. It is one thing when a right wing religion preaches that Islam must be wiped out by Christians (2), it is another thing when this is happening within our military. You are free to believe as you wish, that is America. Are you free to take up arms in the military with beliefs that another religion must be killed? That is not America. It is happening now and I am sick, physically ill, that it is happening in America‘s armed forces.

This makes us no better than Jihad’s extremists. Any religion that allows for killing in the name of God or a religion is a problem. Houston, we have a problem. The separation of church and state has not been upheld from the top down and this is the crux to why there is a problem and how to fix it. If we don’t fix it, America is not true to it’s greatness and can no longer be a world leader.

Word to the wise, if your religion doesn’t uphold world peace for believers and non believers alike, as a supreme mission, it is a false teaching and is not a true religion.

Within, the highest truth is found and recognized in our fellow common man’s wisdom, compassion, purity and true self, within all, some more in touch, some less, it is here that we kill the will to kill. http://action.wccci.org/

What is radical? That which allows for violence or persecution. There are radicals within both of the major religions in our world today.

What will lead to tolerance and diversity for Peace in the world is Buddhism’s objective. www.sgi-usa.org

I. Non-violence is essential. Pacifism in Buddhism isn’t about resignation, it is about endurance, perseverance and sincere prayer for other’s happiness and for peace in the world. It is accepting responsibility for your actions, knowing yourself, and having compassion for others. It is NOT taking an eye for an eye. It is taking what is dished out and turning it into something better with compassion for the wrong doer. Based on the strict law of cause and effect, two wrongs never make a right.

II. Equality. The true Buddha’s intent was to make all people equal to his own enlightenment. First you must value your own life as a treasure, then you can recognize the same within others.

III. Wisdom.

Here in America, the fundamentalist superiority complex is mixing with government and becoming more powerful in it’s self-righteousness which leads to persecution.

I was never taught to be so proud of my country as I was taught within Buddhism. My country, America, was great because of it’s religious tolerance, human rights for equality, and fair system of justice. I belong to that country and she is barely breathing. That great nation is worthy of the great teaching I have found in True Buddhism.

The nay sayers are quoting founding fathers who had not an inkling that such a great teaching as Buddhism even existed but, none the less, they had the foresight for a rule of government that allowed for individuals not to be dominated by any one endorsed religion. From the outset this will of their vision has been tested and too often it has been bent and broken.

I can not help but believe that if we could somehow uphold that great vision we would end the hypocrisy today and be the truest example of what a government should be.

It comes down to each person refusing to judge another on the basis of religious belief. Each person must reaffirm that each human being in existence is deserving of life. You can not point to evil outside yourself. You can control your mind to not persecute. Non violent bridges of trust in the humanity of each must be built through dialog. http://sgi-usa.org/thesgiusa/community/dss/

If we fail to do this, if Christians and Muslims (or any other group I may not be aware of) continue the blame game in the name of a supreme being, rapture or any higher power, or prophet, all people will suffer. No one wins if everyone loses.

Your Magic Wand

Your Magic Wand

Ask any Mother's child,
Purity reigns the heart
That seeks friends and joy.

How that purity leaves,
We have only ourselves to blame
If power and money are supreme.

Fear, greed and anger are your enemies
Kill the will to kill within
Want for others as you want for yourself.

Simple yet profound

How profound, “There are not two lands, pure or impure in themselves. The difference lies solely in the good or evil of our minds“. This same Gosho states that we must not seek purity outside our own selves. The teaching explains what that purity is within, that which everyone has equally within, the aspects of enlightenment; mercy, compassion, wisdom, true self and freedom. True Buddhism also elucidates what the darkness within us is; greed, anger and ignorance. By reflecting upon your own mind you can elevate from the darkness into the light. This is the practice of True Buddhism, this is how chanting 'Nam myoho renge kyo' works to benefit the individual. Because it is based on the universal principle of cause and effect, belief is not required or commanded. This law operates throughout the macro and micro of all existence without any belief.

My first book of poetry

I've been writing poetry for a good 30 years and just published my first book (see custom lists). Hopefully, someday soon, I can compile some of the other good ones into another book. This one is mostly about the life philosophy of True Buddhism. I've done a lot of creative writing and had so much that I actually lost some of my works during one of my moves.
